All four shaving brands craft their shaving products in an artisanal manner. They are often family businesses that produce top-quality shaving soaps, shaving creams, and aftershave products with a lot of dedication, passion, and enthusiasm. Ichabod Conk is an American legend. He was a young ambitious but poor man who settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after the American Civil War in 1866. He fell in love with a charming young lady who owned several barbershops. After their marriage, he began working in these barbershops. As an entrepreneur, he and his wife developed and sold hair care, toiletry, and shaving products. As a traveling salesman, he traversed the West to promote their assortment. A well-known saying was: 'Colonel Ichabod Conk brought a clean shaven and sweet smelling face to the west!' He passed away in 1898.
