The straight razors are sharpened by the manufacturer and are guaranteed ready to shave.
Usage
- Moisten face and lather well
- Hold the razor between your thumb and 3 fingers - see instruction drawing
- Hold the razor at a 30 degree angle to the skin
- Use a slightly smaller angle on the cheek, chin and upper lip
- Press the razor lightly onto the skin
- First shave with the beard hairs
- While shaving, stretch the skin with the other hand
- Shave with gentle, even movements
Use the razor safely and carefully! Practice around the sideburns and cheeks at first. After a few days, you can carefully shave the chin and neck area. Sharpen the razor regularly with the ironing strap.

It is absolutely true that with an open razor you really shave much smoother than with everything else. I started two months ago with a Shavette of 10 euros. Then a Brent Berkley. And then a DOVO stainless steel Shavette. Then a King C Gilette for Christmas for 15 euros. And then a Merkur 37C Slant Razor. It is for daily use but since yesterday I have a DOVO best quality open knife. And what a difference. Get less. So at home faster. Nice that I learned with the Shavette and on vacation on the plane. You can get blades everywhere. But for the weekend the DOVO Best Quality with TrueUfitt and Hill. A Simpson Synthetic and after Aluin E+S Rasage aftershave and you just feel great. All beautiful things that are a rest but this open razor from DOVO is a very nice addition.

My first straight razor! 5 years old but still loved! He almost has to be sharpened but still shaves nice! If the little children finally allow it then the shaving belt is at the door, a jar of fat and a canvas with it just past the belt Knock clean penny wet soap make a face full of smear and enjoy my knife.
