Why do you need a shaving brush?
Most of us agree that wet shaving is much more pleasant than drying with a device. The shaving result is also fresher and smoother. The combination of hot water, shaving soap, a shaving brush and a little time ensure a beautiful and comfortable shaving result. Shaving soap or shaving cream must be frothed with water and shaving brush. With the shaving brush - which you can easily order in our webshop - Divide the shaving foam well over the face.
How do you use a shaving brush?
Wet the brush with lukewarm water and put a little bit of shaving cream on or soap with the shaving soap. Move it back and forth over the face. Beard hairs are as hard as copper wires, but also absorb water. So take your time! You have to apply and frame the shaving foam, shaving soap or shaving cream for at least 1 minute. This makes the beard hairs softer and softer; This makes shaving easier. By applying less pressure with the razor you ensure more shaving comfort and for fewer shaving irritations afterwards.
Above all, do not crush the brush too much in the soap, shaving bowl or on your face. This allows the hair to damage or break. After use everything properly rinse, get away and hang upside down in a holder. This allows the brush to dry out well and it will last longer.
Which shaving brush should I buy?
The choice for your shaving brush is of course personal. One is no better than the other. The most important manufacturers of shaving brushes are Edwin Jagger, Muhle and Omega. Below a list of the different type of hair.
Shaving brushes of badger hair
If you choose luxury, you choose a nice shaving brush from badger hair. Fie hair feels pleasant on the skin and easily produces a beautiful and full shaving foam:
• 100% natural
• Elastic and flexible
• Feels pleasant on the skin
• Absorbs a lot of water and produces a lot of foam
• Durable and long service life
• Extensive range, various qualities and various dimensions
Pork hair
Shaving brushes from pig hair are low priced. The pork hairs feel sturdy and stiff. Pork hairs are slightly stiffer than badger hairs:
• 100% natural
• Priced
• Sturdy and compact shaving brush
• Produces enough shaving foam
• Extensive range
Shaving brushes of synthetic hair
Objection to a shaving brush of badger or pork hair? Then you choose a shaving brush of synthetic hair. The synthetic hairs have practically the same resistance, elasticity and softness of badger hair:
• No animal hair
• Elastic and flexible
• Produces enough shaving foam
• Dries quickly after use
Do you suffer from acne or perhaps an allergy to animal hair? Then use a shaving brush of synthetic hairs. Plastic hairs are more hygienic to use.
