Body hair shaving
On Instagram and TikTok you can't avoid it: half-naked male influencers and so-called trendy overactive fitboys. In the strangest antics, these gentlemen show their body, muscles, and six-pack. With a challenging tough look and puckered lips, the perfectly bare body is shown. What stands out is that you don't see a single pimple or mole on the body. Everything is completely shaved bald and smooth. Besides shaving the face, many men have been shaving their heads bald for years. Since the popularity of social media, you see more and more men also shaving off body hair, such as chest, back, and armpit hair.
The skin under the armpits or on the chest can be sensitive. If you decide to shave everything off, do it carefully. And use the right shaving tool for each type of body part. Protect your skin optimally with a shaving gel. A shaving gel is transparent and can easily be applied with the fingers. This way you always have a view of the surface to be shaved. Many of these shaving gels contain nourishing and soothing ingredients, such as Aloe Vera.
Use the multi-blade Mach3 or Fusion razor from Gillette for shaving the armpits. For chest hair, you can very well use the safety razor, such as the Boker double edge safety razor closed comb butterfly closure or the Edwin Jagger DE86 double edge safety razor black chrome.
At first, the skin can irritate. So especially don't shave too often yet. Give your skin rest and shave at most once a week. Rome wasn't built in a day either. Therefore, shave your body bald and smooth step by step.
In case of annoying irritations and itching, especially do not apply body lotion or deodorant after shaving. These care products are often perfumed and can further irritate the skin.
Why shave body hair or not?
Don't let yourself be driven crazy, only shave your armpit and chest hair off if you want to. Why should you shave everything off? Having too much body hair might make you sweat more and smell of sweat sooner. A little less armpit hair means a little less sweat smell. Are you a passionate swimmer or road cyclist? Smooth legs and arms contribute to your sports performance. Or you just hate all that excess body hair.
As soon as your skin starts to irritate, you should of course stop shaving everything off. The skin under the armpits is very sensitive. Your chest skin can also become quite irritated, for example red sore spots and itching. The big disadvantage of shaving the body completely is that your morning routine takes even longer. Do you have the time and desire for that? Just assume that those guys on Instagram only show the beautiful "picture". And don't forget that people on social media are very skilled at photoshopping.
