As you know, we always keep a close eye on what is happening with our customers and what the latest trends and developments are. Of course, we are focused on shaving, beards, and men's grooming. We would like to share this with you so that you can always engage in good conversations at the coffee machine at work or at a birthday party. As you are used to from us, you don't have to do anything at all. You should always decide for yourself whether or not to participate in a trend.

Shaving body hair

On Instagram and TikTok, you can't escape it: half-naked male influencers and so-called trendy overactive fit boys. In the strangest antics, these gentlemen showcase their bodies, muscle bundles, and six-pack. With a challenging tough look and pouting lips, the perfect bare body is displayed. What stands out is that you don't see a single pimple or mole on the body. Everything is completely shaved and smooth. Besides shaving their faces, many men have been shaving their heads bald for years. Since the popularity of social media, you see more and more men also shaving body hair, such as chest, back, and armpit hair.

The skin under the armpits or on the chest can be sensitive. If you decide to shave everything off, do it carefully. And use the right shaving tools for each type of body part. Protect your skin optimally with a shaving gel. A shaving gel is transparent and can easily be applied with the fingers. This way, you always have a clear view of the area to be shaved. Many of these shaving gels contain caring and soothing ingredients, such as Aloe Vera.

Use the multi-blade Mach3 or Fusion razor from Gillette for shaving the armpits. For chest hair, you can very well use the safety razor, such as the Boker double edge safety razor closed comb butterfly closure or the Edwin Jagger DE86 double edge safety razor black chrome.

At first, the skin may irritate. So, especially do not shave too often yet. Give your skin a rest and shave a maximum of once a week. Rome wasn't built in a day either. Therefore, gradually shave your body bald and smooth.

If you experience annoying irritations and itching, do not apply body lotion or deodorant after shaving. These care products are often scented and can further irritate the skin.

Why shave or not shave body hair?

Don't let yourself be driven crazy; only shave your armpit and chest hair if you want to. Why should you have to shave everything off? Too much body hair might make you sweat more and smell of sweat. A little less armpit hair results in a little less sweat smell. Are you an avid swimmer or cyclist? Smooth legs and arms contribute to your sports performance. Or you just hate all that excess body hair.

As soon as your skin starts to irritate, you should obviously stop shaving everything off. The skin under the armpits is very sensitive. Your chest skin can also irritate significantly, for example, with red, sore spots and itchiness. The major downside of shaving the body completely is that you will spend even longer on your morning routine. Do you really have time and energy for that? Just assume that those guys on Instagram only show the pretty 'picture'. And don't forget that people on social media are very skilled at photoshopping.
