Everything under control with the right pomade
Every now and then, you find yourself desperately pulling your hair. Your hair isn't cooperating and is unmanageable. It won't sit in the right style. Very annoying. You have other things on your mind in the early morning when you're fiddling with your hairstyle in front of the mirror. Luckily, you have all sorts of handy tools. Our motto is always: "No matter what happens, as long as your hair looks good." And to achieve that, you need a pomade. In this blog, we will tell you what is available on the market and how to use it.
Which pomade should I buy?
Always determine for yourself what you want first. You might want to consult your barber or hairdresser. For example, do you have thin hair and want more volume and firmness? Or do you want to keep bouncy curly hair in check with a strong pomade? Do you prefer a natural matte shine in your hair or a super shiny gloss?
Basically, there are 2 types of pomades. The classic wax pomade based on (animal) fat, paraffin, and beeswax. And the pomade based on water and (plant-based) oils. A water-based pomade is easy to apply and dries quickly. Your hairstyle will stay perfectly in shape all day long. A pomade based on oily or waxy substances will not dry out in your hair. This allows you to restyle your hairstyle throughout the day. This pomade is more difficult to wash out than a water-based hair gel.

How to use a pomade?
You can best apply your hair gel or pomade to towel-dried hair. This allows you to apply and distribute it better. Depending on the amount of hair, take a small amount of pomade from the jar with your finger or nail, about the size of a hazelnut. Rub a small amount between your palms or fingers. Distribute and work it in evenly and thoroughly. Optionally, use a comb or brush to further distribute it nicely. And then style your hair.
