Apply and protect
As soon as the first spring sun appears, we immediately start strolling. A nice smooth and fresh shave or tidying up your beard and off you go outside. When the sun is high, you have to watch out for this glowing ball. Especially if you have little hair on top of your head. But many men hate all kinds of greasy sunscreens. In this blog, we have some handy protection and care tips.
Sun protection tips
Tip 1
This is an open-door tip, protect your head with a nice hat or a stylish cap. Despite these head coverings, it remains important to protect your skin.
Tip 2
After shaving, use an after shave balm with sun protection. The super handy 3-in-1 after shave balm from American Crew cares for and soothes the skin after shaving and also protects against the UV radiation of the sun. The sun protection factor of this balm is 15. It provides light protection against the sun.
Tip 3
Use a moisturizer with SPF in the morning. A moisturizer is a hydrating and facial care cream. You can apply it after the aftershave treatment for the care of the entire face. Some moisturizers also have sun protection.
Very popular is the Face Cream SPF30 from Recipe for Men. This Swedish care brand produces various shaving and skincare products for men. Their products are well adapted to men's skin and how we like to use care products. This moisturizer hydrates the skin and simultaneously protects against the sun. SPF30 is a powerful protection. For optimal use, we recommend using it twice a day. Early in the morning and possibly during the day. This way you have good protection all day long.
The Day Cream moisturizer from Anthony Logistics has sun protection of SPF30. This moisturizer contains various caring and nourishing ingredients, such as wheat proteins, panthenol (vitamin B), and vitamins A, C, and E. This cream ensures a healthy, fresh, and firm skin. It reduces wrinkles. In addition, it has very good sun protection. You should also apply this cream several times a day.
What is SPF?
You have so-called chemical and physical UV filters. Chemical filters penetrate the skin and absorb this radiation. Physical filters lay a protective layer on your skin and 'reflect' the sunlight.
Commonly used SPF ingredients in chemical filters are Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Octocrylene, and Benzophenone-3. You can find these ingredients in many moisturizers. There is quite some debate about the safety of these ingredients. They are absorbed into the blood and can disrupt your hormone balance. They could also irritate the skin. Of course, the risk of being exposed to UV radiation unprotected is many times higher than the risk of these ingredients. If you are uncertain about using these care products, you can of course start very carefully by applying a small amount on less visible parts of the body. So instead of applying directly on your face, apply a little cream on your arm.
