Applying and Protecting
As soon as the first spring sun shines, we obviously want to strut around. A nice smooth shave or tidying up your beard, and off you go outside. Once the sun is high, you need to be careful of this glowing ball. Especially if you have little hair on your head. But many men absolutely hate all kinds of greasy sunscreen lotions. In this blog, we have some handy protection and care tips.
Sun Protection Tips
Tip 1
This is a no-brainer: protect your head with a nice hat or a stylish cap. Despite these head coverings, it remains important to protect your skin.
Tip 2
After shaving, use an aftershave balm with sun protection. The super handy 3-in-1 after shave balm from American Crew cares for and calms the skin after shaving and also protects against the sun's UV radiation. The sun protection factor of this balm is 15. It provides light protection against the sun.
Tip 3
Use a moisturizer with SPF in the morning. A moisturizer is a hydrating and facial care cream. You can apply it after the aftershave treatment for the care of the entire face. Some moisturizers also have sun protection.
Very popular is the Face Cream SPF30 from Recipe for Men. This Swedish skincare brand produces various shaving and skincare products for men. Their products are well-suited for men's skin and as we like to use skincare products. This moisturizer hydrates the skin while also protecting against the sun. SPF30 offers powerful protection. For optimal use, we recommend applying it twice a day. In the early morning and possibly later in the day. This way, you have good protection throughout the day.
The Day Cream moisturizer from Anthony Logistics has sun protection of SPF30. This moisturizer contains various caring and nourishing ingredients, such as Wheat proteins, Panthenol (vitamin B), and vitamins A, C, and E. This cream provides a healthy, fresh, and firm skin. It reduces wrinkles. Additionally, it has very good sun protection. You should also apply this cream a few times a day.
What is SPF?
There are so-called chemical and physical UV filters. Chemical filters penetrate the skin and absorb this radiation. Physical filters create a protective layer on your skin and 'reflect' sunlight.
Commonly used SPF ingredients in chemical filters are Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Octocrylene, and Benzophenone-3. You can find these ingredients in many moisturizers. There is quite a bit of discussion about the safety of these ingredients. They are absorbed into the blood and can disrupt your hormonal balance. They could also irritate the skin. It is of course true that the risk of being exposed to UV radiation without protection is many times higher than the risk of these ingredients. If you are unsure about using these skincare products, you can start by being very careful and applying a small amount to less visible parts of your body. So instead of applying it directly to your face, apply a bit of cream on your arm.
