Aftershaves ensure a fresh and clean feeling on the skin and are much less strong in scent than colognes or perfumes. An aftershave has the lowest percentage of odor components (2% to 4%). The scent of an aftershave has disappeared after a few minutes or even. You can also apply or splash an after shave directly to the newly shaved skin. 

A Cologne contains more odor components (5% to 10%) than an aftershave. You continue to smell a cologne for a few hours. The Cologne will smell much less present during the day.
