What do we do under the armpits?
Let's not beat around the bush. After a hard day's work or an hour of exercise, it doesn't always smell fresh under your armpits. Wet sweat spots on your beautifully freshly ironed white or your favorite blue shirt also don't feel pleasant and you actually want to avoid that. In this blog, we list all the deodorants and explain how you can ensure wonderfully scented and dry armpits.
Deodorant versus antiperspirant
A deodorant masks or neutralizes body odors under the armpits. Deodorants are often perfumed and provide long-lasting freshness and a unique scent. It does not reduce sweating. So after a day of hard work, you still have sweaty armpits. An antiperspirant goes a step further by keeping sweating under control. An antiperspirant often contains aluminum salts and effectively blocks sweating. These salts reduce your body's natural sweating function by blocking the sweat glands in your skin. As a result, moisture can less effectively reach the skin's surface.
Which deodorant should you choose?
The choice between a deodorant and an antiperspirant depends on:
- whether you sweat easily by nature;
- whether you do heavy physical work daily or exercise a lot;
- and to what extent you have sensitive skin to certain ingredients.
If you sweat easily and still have a whole day of work ahead, you can opt for an antiperspirant. If you are exercising, you know you will sweat for a bit. After exercising, you often take a shower anyway. In that case, a deodorant is effective. If you have sensitive skin, the aluminum salts in antiperspirant deodorants may cause skin irritations. You can best use a deodorant with natural ingredients without these salts. Some armpit products contain alcohol. If you regularly shave your armpits, you should avoid deodorants with alcohol. Alcohol can dry out the skin and potentially irritate it, causing red spots and a burning sensation.
Deodorants come in various forms and compositions: spray, stick, or roller, and with or without aluminum salts and alcohol. Many deodorants from men's brands match well with the scents of shaving soaps, aftershave products, and colognes. The choice is, of course, personal.

Meissner Tremonia deodorant cream Lavender Deluxe
The deodorant cream from Meissner Tremonia is unique and revolutionary. Many deodorants come in plastic packaging (spray can or stick). Meissner Tremonia aims to reduce plastic in the bathroom. This underarm product comes in a small glass jar. You take the cream out and apply it with your fingers. The warmth of your skin easily dissolves the cream and keeps it well on your skin. It is a natural deodorant based on baking soda and plant-based essential oils. It contains no parabens, paraffin, synthetic fragrances, preservatives, or aluminum salts. It is highly effective and prevents unpleasant underarm odor for a long time without suppressing the skin's natural sweating function.
The added corn starch absorbs moisture and soothes the skin. The baking soda neutralizes odor compounds, and the sunflower oil and coconut oil nourish and hydrate the skin. For the scent, Meissner Tremonia only uses natural essential oils of the highest quality.
