Top quality classic safety shear or Double Edge Safety Razor from Solingen. This razor has a closed comb. This razor is suitable for light to normal beard growth.
The classic razor is completely back. It shaves more pleasantly, prevents ingrown hairs and the razor blades are cheaper than the modern expensive Gillette razor blades.
Where should you pay attention when purchasing a Safety Razor?
Safety Razors with closed comb are the most common ranges. Suitable for the novice shaving and shaving the light to normal beard growth. Also suitable for sensitive skin. Shair knives with an open comb shear slightly more direct or 'more aggressively'. These are suitable for the experienced shaving and shaving the normal to heavy (stiff beard hair) beard growth. The razor with a butterfly closure has a light shaving head and is suitable for light beard growth. With the safety razor with an adjustable shaving head, the cutting angle of the Double Edge razor and the 'gap' (= opening of the shaving head) can be set. Usage
First soap the beard hairs, keep the razor at an angle of approx. 30 degrees compared to the skin, press the knife lightly on the skin and shave with the beard hairs. At the neck part, tighten the skin with the other hand.

After years of Gillette Mach3 switched to Safety Razor. First practice a month with a razor of the great grocer. The result soon became better than the Gillette. Last week purchased the Merkur 34C. Relief! With the first (equally purchased) astra the knife, I will enter the fifth day tomorrow. Still super results. After day five I will have to grab a new one. The razor is a bit small, but after a week you don't want anything else. Feels safer than the Gillette. Very accurate. Result many times better. Only the feeling already with such a beautiful device in your hand ....

I was completely fed up with the high prices of the famous cartridge blades and my skin was pretty red every time after shaving (with fresh cart.). After some research, I read about "old -fashioned" Safety Razors and the benefits of this. I came up with this Merkur 34C. It is now 2021 and I still use it a few times a week. After almost 10 years, the 34C (with minimal maintenance) still looks just like when I bought it. It is easy to clean with an old toothbrush and some hand soap. I remember that I was quite nervous for the first use, but it was actually very easy and smooth. There are plenty of videos on the internet for the beginner and after trying 2 times you will realize it. For beginners I would advise a trial package with different brands of blades. I myself came up with feather. The initial investment may seem a bit higher, but you save the rest of your life and you have a better shaving experience!

Use the Merkur 34c for three months. Is good in the hand and is very user -friendly. Use it for the beard contours. The short handle is then a + point. Time and again glad that I have to 'shear' something with such a pleasant gadget.
