Top quality classic safety razor or double edge safety razor from Solingen. This razor has a closed comb. This razor is suitable for light to normal beard growth.
The classic razor is back. It shaves better, prevents ingrown hairs and the razor blades are cheaper than the modern expensive Gillette razor blades.
What should you pay attention to when purchasing a safety razor?
Safety razors with closed combs are the most common razors. Suitable for the novice shaver and shaving light to normal beard growth. Also suitable for sensitive skin. Razors with an open comb provide a more direct or 'aggressive' shave. These are suitable for the experienced shaver and shaving normal to heavy (stiff beard hairs) beard growth. The razor with a butterfly closure has a light shaving head and is suitable for light beard growth. With the safety razor with an adjustable shaving head, the cutting angle of the double edge razor blade and the 'gap' (= opening of the shaving head) can be adjusted. This allows you to adjust the degree of 'aggressiveness' to your personal shaving technique while shaving. This type of razor is suitable for any type of beard growth or skin. Usage
First lather the beard hairs thoroughly, hold the razor at an angle of approximately 30 degrees to the skin, press the blade lightly on the skin and shave with the beard hairs. At the neck area, pull the skin taut with the other hand.

Na jaren Gillette mach3 overgestapt naar safety razor. Eerst een maandje oefenen met een razor van de grootgrutter. Resultaat was al snel beter dan de Gillette. Vorige week de Merkur 34C aangeschaft. Verademing ! Met het eerste (gelijk aangeschafte) Astra DE mesje ga ik morgen de vijfde dag in. Nog steeds super resultaat. Na dag vijf zal ik wel een nieuwe moeten pakken. De razor is wel wat klein, maar na een een weekje wil je niet anders. Voelt veiliger dan de Gillette. Erg nauwkeurig. Resultaat vele malen beter. Alleen het gevoel al met zo'n mooi apparaat in je hand....

Ik was de hoge prijzen van de bekende cartridge mesjes helemaal zat en mijn huid was aardig rood elke keer na het scheren (zelf met verse cart.). Na wat onderzoek las ik over "ouderwetse" safety razors en de voordelen hiervan. Ik kwam uit op deze Merkur 34C. Het is nu 2021 en ik gebruik hem nog steeds een paar keer per week. Na bijna 10 jaar ziet de 34c (met minimaal onderhoud) er nog net zo uit als toen ik hem kocht. Hij is makkelijk schoon te maken met een oude tandenborstel en wat handzeep. Ik herinner me dat ik best zenuwachtig was voor het eerste gebruik, maar het ging eigenlijk zeer makkelijk en soepel. Op internet staan genoeg filmpjes voor de beginner en na 2 keer proberen heb je het wel door. Voor beginners zou ik adviseren een probeer pakket met verschillende merken mesjes te proberen. Zelf kwam ik uit op Feather.De initiële investering lijkt misschien wat hoger, maar je bespaard de rest van je leven en je hebt een betere scheer ervaring!

Door het korte handvat ligt het mes fijn in de hand, dit gecombineerd met het gewicht zorgt ervoor dat je weinig druk hoeft uit te oefenen voor een glad scheerresultaat en het mes het werk kan laten doen. Daarnaast bestaat het mes uit twee delen waardoor het gemakkelijk te reinigen is. Vanwege de gesloten kam is dit scheermes zeer geschikt voor de beginnende Double Edge scheerder. Als je opzoek bent naar je eerste Double edge scheermes kan ik de 34C zeker aanraden.

Gebruik de Merkur 34C een drietal maand. Ligt goed in de hand en is heel gebruiksvriendelijk. Gebruik het voor de baard contouren. Het korte handvat is dan een + punt. Steeds weer blij dat ik wat moet 'bijscheren' met zo een aangenaam hebbeding.
