Top quality classic safety razor or double edge safety razor from Solingen. This razor has a closed comb. This razor is suitable for light to normal beard growth.
The classic razor is back. It shaves better, prevents ingrown hairs and the razor blades are cheaper than the modern expensive Gillette razor blades.
What should you pay attention to when purchasing a safety razor?
Safety razors with closed combs are the most common razors. Suitable for the novice shaver and shaving light to normal beard growth. Also suitable for sensitive skin. Razors with an open comb provide a more direct or 'aggressive' shave. These are suitable for the experienced shaver and shaving normal to heavy (stiff beard hairs) beard growth. The razor with a butterfly closure has a light shaving head and is suitable for light beard growth. With the safety razor with an adjustable shaving head, the cutting angle of the double edge razor blade and the 'gap' (= opening of the shaving head) can be adjusted. This allows you to adjust the degree of 'aggressiveness' to your personal shaving technique while shaving. This type of razor is suitable for any type of beard growth or skin. In addition, the weight of the razor also counts: a light razor for light beard growth; a heavy razor for normal to heavy beard growth.
Usage
First lather the beard hairs thoroughly, hold the razor at an angle of approximately 30 degrees to the skin, press the blade lightly on the skin and shave with the beard hairs. At the neck area, pull the skin taut with the other hand.

After years of Gillette Mach3 switched to Safety Razor. First practice a month with a razor of the great grocer. The result soon became better than the Gillette. Last week purchased the Merkur 34C. Relief! With the first (equally purchased) astra the knife, I will enter the fifth day tomorrow. Still super results. After day five I will have to grab a new one. The razor is a bit small, but after a week you don't want anything else. Feels safer than the Gillette. Very accurate. Result many times better. Only the feeling already with such a beautiful device in your hand ....

I was completely fed up with the high prices of the famous cartridge blades and my skin was pretty red every time after shaving (with fresh cart.). After some research, I read about "old -fashioned" Safety Razors and the benefits of this. I came up with this Merkur 34C. It is now 2021 and I still use it a few times a week. After almost 10 years, the 34C (with minimal maintenance) still looks just like when I bought it. It is easy to clean with an old toothbrush and some hand soap. I remember that I was quite nervous for the first use, but it was actually very easy and smooth. There are plenty of videos on the internet for the beginner and after trying 2 times you will realize it. For beginners I would advise a trial package with different brands of blades. I myself came up with feather. The initial investment may seem a bit higher, but you save the rest of your life and you have a better shaving experience!

Use the Merkur 34c for three months. Is good in the hand and is very user -friendly. Use it for the beard contours. The short handle is then a + point. Time and again glad that I have to 'shear' something with such a pleasant gadget.
